PYONGYANG, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Monday hosted a joint service of Buddhist associations from both sides of the Korean Peninsula with a call for reunification.
The ritual at the Pohyon Temple in Mt. Myohyang marked the millennium of the wood engraving of 80,000 blocks of complete collection of Buddhist scriptures, while appealing for joint efforts toward reunification.
Practical actions are necessary to defuse the confrontation between the two sides and actively push forward dialogue and cooperation, according to a statement issued at the event.
