ATHENS, June 3 (Xinhua) -- A series of attacks with home shift explosive devices targeted on Monday the offices of a Greek state official and other public agencies across Athens, causing the light injury of a civilian, according to Greek police.
A female neighbor of Justice Ministry General Secretary Yorgos Sourlas was transferred to a local hospital with minor burns after the explosion of one of the devices which had been placed outside his office on the fifth floor of an apartment building in central Athens.
Earlier on Monday two similar devices made up with gas canisters, according to police sources, had went off outside an Environment ministry agency and the Foundation for Economic and Financial Research (IOBE) premises in central Athens districts, causing minor damage.
No group has claimed responsibility for the new string of attacks yet. However police officials speaking anonymously link them with domestic terrorist groups which have orchestrated several such attacks, in addition to more serious ones, in recent years.
"We strongly condemn the attacks... We are certain all political parties will condemn this new attempt to introduce violence into public life," Greek government spokesperson Simos Kedikoglou said in a statement.
