HANOI, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong on Wednesday met a delegation of the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSCM) led by Chairman Vojtech Filip, who is also chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the Czech Chamber of Deputies.

Vietnam attaches importance to preserving the friendly relations and cooperation with the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSCM), and wishes that the two communist parties would actively contribute to consolidating and developing relations between the two countries and two peoples, said the Vietnamese party leader.

Vojtech Filip briefed the Vietnamese party leader major situations in the Czech Republic and the KSCM.

He expressed his delight at the Vietnamese host's warm welcome and socio-economic achievements that the Vietnamese people have gained, and said the communist parties of Vietnam and Czech should further increase exchange of information and experience, as well as closely coordinate at multi-lateral forums to promote the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

On the same day, the KSCM delegation held talks with a CPV delegation headed by Hoang Binh Quan, CPV Central Committee member and director of its Commission for External Relations, during which they exchanged information on regional and international situations and issues of mutual concern.

The Czech delegates also worked with Vietnamese officials and visited cultural and socio-economic sites in capital Hanoi and northern Quang Ninh province.
