AIDS Memorial Blankets National Mall in Washington D.C.

AIDS blankets are seen on display on the National Mall as part of the 19th International AIDS Conference in Washington D.C., capital of the United States, July 23, 2012. As the global scientific and medical community convene in Washington, D.C. for the 19th International AIDS Conferencce, the AIDS Memeorial Quilt, with 48,000 blankets with over 94,000 people's names who lost lives due to the AIDS, is on display by the NAMES project foundation all around the U.S. capital. The blankets, called the Last One, represent the last new HIV infection, the last mother-to-child transmission, the last person to face stigmatization for being HIV-positive, the last child left orphaned, and the last death from AIDS.
