ULAN BATOR, July 16 (Xinhua) -- The Democratic Party of Mongolia on Monday nominated party chairman Norov Altankhuyag as the candidate for the new prime minister of Mongolia.

The decision was made at the party's National Consultative Committee meeting, the ruling body of the party.

According to the party's resolution, the candidate for the new parliament speaker was also determined and Z.Enkhbold was nominated as the candidate for the position.

The nominees still need to be approved by the parliament.

During the parliamentary election held on June 28, the Democratic Party of Mongolia won 31 seats in the 76-member parliament in which four seats still await final results, making it the biggest party in the new parliament.

But given the fact that the Democratic Party didn't get an absolute majority of seats, the party is expected to form a coalition government with another party or party coalition.
