DPRK marks former leader's demise anniversary

Ordinary DPRK residents present flowers and bow to the statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. The country has unfolded nationwide activities to mark the anniversary of the former leader’s demise.

Senior officials of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun to pay tribute to Kim Il Sung on the 18th anniversary of the former leader’s death, the country’s official news agency KCNA reported on Monday.

According to KCNA, Kim Yong Nam, Choe Yong Rim and other senior party and state officials on Sunday visited the palace which used to be served as Kim Il Sung’s official residence. A floral basket was placed in front of the statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in the name of current leader Kim Jong Un.
