The U.S. space agency NASA recently released a panoramic image of Mars from the camera on Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity, showing the rover tracks left on the planet’s red soil and an old impact crater.

Opportunity has completed its 3,000th Martian day on July 2 and on the same day NASA released the image, which was taken between December 21, 2011 and May 8, 2012 when Opportunity was experiencing the planet’s winter season.
