Taliban begin spring offensive in Afghan cities

Afghan soldiers transport wounded people in Kabul, capital of Afghanistan, April 15, 2012. Gun shots and blasts erupted in the Afghan capital at around 01:35 p.m. local time on Sunday and is continuing. According to security officials, some suicide bombers entered a hotel namely Kabul Star close to the office of United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan and the foreign ministry, then gun shots and blasts were heard.
