17:05, April 11, 2012

ANKARA, April 11 (Xinhua) -- A total of 33 Yemenis who were injured in the recent unrest in their country arrived in the Turkish capital of Ankara on Wednesday for medical treatment, the semi-official Anatolia News Agency reported.

The injured Yemenis were received by officials from Turkey's Ministry of Health at the Esenboga International Airport. One of the officials, Dr. Oner Guner, was quoted as saying that the injured Yemenis, including a child, would be taken to Yenimahalle State Hospital.

Before their departure from the Yemeni capital of Sanaa, several of the injured said that they believed they would receive high-quality medical treatment in Ankara and were grateful to the Turkish government for providing such services.

Having cut short his China tour the previous day, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu was also at the airport to welcome the 33 Yemenis. He spoke with them in Arabic and asked about their health conditions.
