17 Afghan civilians shot dead by a U.S. soldier

Local people gather outside the houses where 17 civilians were shot dead by a U.S. soldier in Zangabad village of Panjwayi district in Kandahar province, south Afghanistan, on March 11, 2012. A total of 17 civilians, including women and children, were killed in the wee hours Sunday when a U.S. soldier with the NATO- led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) walked out from a military base and begun shooting in the village.
