ROXAS City, Philippines, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- A crane truck was bombed by unidentified armed men Tuesday night in Sigma town of Capiz province in central Philippines, police said Wednesday.

Police Inspector Gilbert Gervero of the Sigma Philippine National Police (PNP) said the crane truck is being owned by a transloading station based in nearby Iloilo province.

"Based on our initial investigation, five unidentified armed men approached the crane truck and they apparently placed the bomb there prior to its explosion," Gervero said.

Crane truck driver Cristituto Jiminez said he saw the suspects approaching the truck with high caliber. They ordered him to lie down.

The police are studying what kind of bomb device the suspects used for the bombing, and are investigating the motive of the attack.
