AMMAN, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- Jordan will host a series of meetings between the Palestinians and Israel in a bid to revitalize the stalled peace process, Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh said Tuesday.

"There will be continuous meetings between the Palestinians and the Israelis to arrive at an agreement on final status issues during the next stage," Judeh told reporters after meetings with the representative of the international Quartet for peace in the Middle East, Tony Blair, as well as representatives of Palestinian and Israeli delegations in Amman.

Jordan agreed with the three parties that the meetings will be held in Jordan, said the minister.

The Palestinian and Israeli delegates held a meeting in Amman on Tuesday, in which the Palestinians presented the Israelis their view towards the issues of security and borders, said Judeh, stressing that the Israelis pledged to study the Palestinians' view in this regard and give their response.

The meeting was positive, the minister said.

Tuesday's meeting and the meetings to be held in Jordan during the next few months would seek to pave the way for resuming peace talks between the Palestinians and Israel, he said.

The upcoming meetings would be based on the Quartet statement issued on Sept. 23, 2011, he said, stressing the importance of the statement.

In the statement, the Quartet asked the Palestinians and Israel to be committed to reaching an agreement on the peace process within a time frame no later than the end of 2012.
