Vietnamese, Thai PMs hold talks in Hanoi to boost ties

HANOI, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung held talks here on Wednesday with his Thai counterpart, Yingluck Shinawatra, during the latter's visit to Vietnam.

At the talks, the Vietnamese prime minister congratulated Yingluck to be elected as the first female PM of Thailand, saying her visit would contribute to promoting the Vietnam-Thailand traditional relations. He also expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Thai government led by Prime Minister Yingluck, Thailand will continue to develop and uphold its position in the region and the world as well.

Yingluck thanked the host for his warm welcome and the valuable assistance that the Vietnamese people reserved for the Thai people during the recent flood. She also said the two countries should further promote trade exchange and tourism.

The two prime ministers agreed that their current finely developing bilateral relations should further expanded, especially in economics, trade, investment, education and training, health care and agriculture.

They exchanged measures on promoting all-sided cooperation, including implementation of the on-going cooperative mechanism in bilateral, regional and international framework, such as joint sea patrol, fight against crimes, production and trade of rice.
