WARSAW, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Poland's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday condemned an attack on the British embassy in Tehran, expressing deep concern about the fate of the British diplomatic staff and their families.
The ministry recalled that in line with the international law, the government of Iran bears absolute responsibility for the safety of Iran-accredited diplomatic missions' staff, members of their families and premises owned by the missions.
Poland expects the Iranian authorities to take immediate actions in order to restore the protection of the British embassy in Tehran and its staff, the ministry said.
Thousands of angry Iranians staged a protest before the British embassy in central Tehran early Tuesday and some of them broke into the compound.
