WASHINGTON, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- The United States and the European Union (EU) vowed on Monday to work together to spur job creation and growth by setting up a high-level working group between the world's two largest economies, according to a statement released by the White House.

"The United States and the EU are committed to identifying new ways of strengthening our economic relationship and developing its full potential," said the White House after the day-long annual EU- U.S. summit here in Washington.

Leaders of the two sides announced to establish a High-Level Working Group on Jobs and Growth, led by U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk and EU Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht.

The working group is tasked to identify policies and measures to increase U.S.-EU trade and investment to support mutually beneficial job creation, economic growth, and international competitiveness, said the White House.
