One dead, over 20 injured in Philippine grenade attack

COTABATO, Philippines, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- A grenade explosion on Monday night left one dead and 22 others wounded in southern Philippines, a local official said Tuesday.

A man tossed a grenade at people in the Recreation Park in the township of Carmen around 10:00 p.m., said Emmylou Lala Mendoza, the governor of North Cotabato province.

She said the blast killed one person and more than 20 others were rushed to hospital for treatment.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack and the suspect who hurled the explosive is now subject to police manhunt.
