GENEVA, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- The presentations made during the second round of direct talks between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United States were "useful", said the U.S. envoy on Monday.

"I think they are useful presentations," U.S. Special Envoy for Six-Party Talks Clifford Hart said at the interval of the talks.

During the morning session that started at around 10:00 CET (0800 GMT), the two parties conducted presentations on their respected positions.

Hart also said that the U.S. Special Envoy for DPRK Policy Stephen Bosworth will host an evening dinner for DPRK delegation, which was led by DPRK's Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kye Gwan.

This round of talks is scheduled to last for two days. A press statement is possible after the end of their meeting on Tuesday.

The six-party talks were launched in 2003, but got bogged down in December 2008 after six rounds of negotiations and the DPRK quit the talks in 2009. The participating states are the DPRK, South Korea, China, the United States, Russia and Japan.
