ISLAMABAD, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani announced a 10-day national mourning on the demise of Pakistan's former First Lady Nusrat Bhutto, who died in a Dubai hospital Sunday afternoon after protracted illness.
Nusrat Bhutto, 82, the mother-in-law of President Asif Ali Zardari, was leader of the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party and wife of late prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and mother of slain Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
The Prime Minister also announced public holiday on Monday and canceled all his engagements.
Begum Nusrat Bhutto was born on Sept. 21, 1929.
A government statement said that arrangements are being made to bring her body to the town of Ghari Khuda Bux in southern Sindh province for burial.
