Terrorist strikes church in Indonesia again

08:54, September 27, 2011

JAKARTA, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- An Indonesian church in Solo of Central Java was struck by a suicide bomber on Sunday, killing the alleged bomber and another person, Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security Djoko Suyanto said Monday.

The bomber blew himself near the gate at 10: 55 a.m. local time (0355 GMT) when the people were exiting the church in Kepunton district, Central Java police spokesman who goes with single name Djihartono said.

The blast wounded 28 people, according to information from a hospital.

The strikes increased the number of strikes and plots at church in the country since 2000.

The spokesman said the bomb at the church in the district could kill the bomber as his body had lied down on the floor after the blast and got injured only on his stomach, while his face and the other parts remain un-damaged, which can help the police identify him.

Many local media have identified him as Malik Nurohman alias Yosep or Yadi, a fugitive who allegedly was involved the suicide bombing in the mosque at police office in Cirebon town of West Java in April which injured scores of police and killed the bomber.

Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono also confirmed that Nurochman was part of the Cirebon terrorist network. "The perpetrator of this suicide bombing is a member of terrorist network in Cirebon," President Yudhoyono said.
