ISTANBUL, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- A batch of Libyan rebels wounded in conflicts in Libya was flown to Turkey's Istanbul by the Turkish authorities for treatment, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported Thursday.

Forty-five injured rebels and 18 relatives arrived in Istanbul on a Turkish Air Force Transall C-160 cargo aircraft late Wednesday night and are receiving treatment in four Istanbul hospitals.

The wounded were flown in from Benghazi and the operation was coordinated by the Turkish Prime Ministry's Disaster and Emergency Management unit.
