SEOUL, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- South Korean Foreign Minister Kim Sung-hwan is expected to attend a forum in Paris this week to discuss Libya's future, as rebel forces move to replace Moammar Gadhafi's government, reports here said Monday.

The minister will attend an extraordinary meeting of the Contact Group on Libya Thursday, called by French President Nicolas Sarkozy, according to Yonhap News Agency.

The forum, aimed at coordinating a response to the Libyan strife, will be joined by 32 countries and seven international organizations. French officials said the meeting will help draw up a "road map" for Libya's future.

South Korea joined the contact group, which recognizes the rebel National Transitional Council as the legitimate authority in Libya, in July. It has also pledged to provide 1 million U.S. dollars to the rebels.
