Suicide blast shocks Afghan Qalat town

QALAT, Afghanistan, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- A suicide bombing shocked Zabul's provincial capital Qalat on Sunday, casualties feared, an official said.

"It was a suicide car bomb targeted the provincial Governor Office," the official told Xinhua but declined to give his name, saying authorized officials would brief the media.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and begun investigation, he further said.
