BANGKOK, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- Some 500 farmers rallied in front of the parliament compound Thursday morning demanding Pheu Thai- led government address farmers' problems as a national agenda.

The members of Thai Farmer Network occupied two lanes of Phitsanulok road around the compound, blocking traffic in the area. They also prepared to submit a petition to Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, asking the premier to chair the Farmers Habilitation and Development Fund.

They want the government to treat farmers' problems as a national agenda, and to review cabinet resolution on April 21, 2010, regarding farmers' debts restructuring.

The new government are on policy debating with senators and members of opposition parties at the parliament for the third day.
