ANKARA, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- Two soldiers of the Turkish security forces on board a mini-bus were wounded in an explosion early Thursday in southeastern Turkey, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported.
The explosives, probably planted by members of the outlawed Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK), exploded four km near the Hakkari city when the civilian bus was on its way to the Hakkari Mountain, Hakkari Governor Muammer Turker was quoted as saying.
Turker said that the bus turned over due to the blast, leaving two soldiers wounded.
Listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union, the PKK took up arms in 1984 to create an ethnic homeland in southeastern Turkey. More than 40,000 people have been killed in conflicts involving the PKK during the past over two decades.
