7.1-magnitude quake rocks Vanuatu

BEIJING, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- A 7.1-magnitude earthquake rocked Vanuatu at 2:19 a.m. Sunday (Beijing Time), the China Earthquake Networks Center said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 30 km, was located at 18.3 degrees south latitude and 168.2 degrees east longitude.

The quake came after a 7.2-magnitude earthquake hit the area at 12:55 a.m. Sunday.
