BISHKEK, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- The Kyrgyz military said Tuesday it is ready to join UN peacekeeping missions and help anti-terror operations in Afghanistan.

Kyrgyzstan's armed forces "have become a fully fledged participant in international military cooperation," Defense Minister Abibilla Kudaiberdiyev was quoted by Interfax news agency as saying.

"Our servicemen are determined to join UN peacekeeping operations in the world's troubled regions as a peacekeeping force," he said.

Kyrgyzstan would also continue to help fight terrorism in Afghanistan, he added.
