TUNIS, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- Tunisia's official press agency TAP reported on Monday that according to sources close to Tunisian security services, two Qatari military aircraft landed on Monday the island of Djerba in southern Tunisia, carrying members of the Libyan opposition.

They are expected to take part in negotiations between the warring Libyan factions.

TAP also evoked "rumors" on the presence of important Libyan personalities currently in Djerba to find a solution to the Libyan crisis.

Eye witness accounts have reported the presence on the island since Friday of Libya's petrol minister, Omrane Ghanem, TAP said. He is said to have left for Malta.
