5.4-magnitude quake hits south of the Fiji Islands -- USGS

SUVA, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale jolted south of the Fiji Islands at 12:58:26 GMT on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 568.00 km, was initially determined to be at 22.7683 degrees south latitude and 179.4613 degrees west longitude.
