HOUSTON, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- The FBI said Thursday that more information will be released about a possible explosive device found on a gas line in the U.S. state of Oklahoma.

FBI officials are meeting in Oklahoma city and more information about the device, which was found Wednesday on a gas line in Okfuskee County, will be released later, FBI spokesman Clay Simmonds was quoted by local newspaper Tulsa World as saying.

The device was described as a 12-inch-by-12-inch pipe bomb with a timing mechanism. Oklahoma Highway Patrol and FBI bomb technicians reportedly went to the site about 70 miles east of Oklahoma City and disarmed the device.

Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin released a statement later on Wednesday, saying that the device, after being examined, was rendered harmless.
