MANADO, Indonesia, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- The ASEAN Economic Ministers Plenary Meeting on Thursday morning focused on " Inclusive and Equitable Growth".

The close-door meeting, attended by ministers in charge of economic, commerce, trade and investment in ASEAN Member States and the ASEAN Secretary-General Surin Pitsuwan, focused on four main points for both ASEAN internal and external relations, namely trade in goods, trade in services, investment and economic cooperation.

The four points should be advanced under the theme of Inclusive and Equitable Growth, so that all parties could benefit from our work, said Mari Elka Pangestu, Indonesia's trade minister and the meeting chairperson, at the press briefing on Wednesday afternoon.

She added that another important issue for the meeting attendees was bringing the theme of Inclusive and Equitable Growth into cooperation with dialogue partners. According to the schedule, the consultation between ASEAN and its dialogue partners attending the meeting, including China, the United States and Russia, would be convened after the plenary meeting.
