ISLAMABAD, Aug.10 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar is leaving for Ankara later Wednesday for an official visit on the invitation of the Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, said a statement of Pakistan's Foreign Ministry.
During the visit, the Foreign Minister will hold bilateral consultations with her Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu, the statement said, adding that the two foreign ministers will discuss bilateral matters, issues of regional connectivity as well as the regional and global situation.
According to the statement, Hina Rabbani Khar will also call on the Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
"Foreign Minister's visit to Turkey as one of her first visits abroad as Foreign Minister is reflective of the close brotherly and cooperative relations between Pakistan and Turkey," said the statement.
It is Khar's first visit to Turkey since she assumed the office as the first female foreign minister in Pakistan last month.
