Waiting in line for Expo pavilions will not be a dull experience any more - square performances will entertain queuing visitors, officials said during a press conference yesterday.

Square performances, such as dancing, music, comedies and sports, will be invited from other countries and selected from other provinces and Shanghai.

Highlights will include balloon shows, "white angels" on stools, Argentina's Mr Soccer staging soccer skills as well as Chinese provincial troupes’ folk art performances such as comedies, Kongfu and music, Li Liheng, the chief director of the square performances said.

All square performances will interact with visitors. A visitor will be chosen to announce the start of performances and organizers will take photos of those moments, marked with serial numbers.
