China's Communist Party to open national congress

The 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) will open in Beijing at 9:00 a.m. on Monday to map out China's all-round development for the coming five years.


There are 38 delegations, grouping 2,213 delegates from nationwide, to the congress, which is regarded as the most important political event in China in five years.
