Inspur Group, China's leading server manufacturer, unveiled its container data center "Smart Cloud" in both Beijing and Jinan on April 7.

The "Smart Cloud" is the first cloud data center product in China, which outperforms traditional data centers in terms of energy consumption, manageability and configuration. It is laying the foundation for China's future cloud computing era.

Industry insiders noted that there are three major technology areas in cloud computing. The key area is the data center, and the other two are intelligent terminals and broadband networks.

The traditional data center has become a bottleneck to the development of cloud computing because of its long construction period, rigid structure, poor flexibility, high-energy consumption and low utilization.

Inspur packs different parts of a data center, including the power supply module, IT equipment and cooling module, into a complete container, which allows for the intelligent configuration and management of a data center with the added bonus of reduced construction time and operating costs.
