Housing prices in 100 Chinese cities see 0.6 percent monthly rise

The average housing price of 100 major cities in China stood at 8,738 yuan per square meter in March, an increase of nearly 0.6 percent compared with February, according to the data released by the China Real Estate Index System on April 1.

The average housing price of China's top 10 major cities, such as Beijing, stood at 15,782 yuan per square meter, an increase of nearly 0.3 percent compared with February. Except for Shanghai, housing prices of the other nine major cities in China showed an increase in March.

Housing prices of 82 major cities out of the total 100 major cities in China showed an increase in March while the housing prices of two cities remained at the same level as February, and the housing prices of 16 cities showed a decline in March.

According to sources, the National Bureau of Statistics will release the March housing price data for of 70 major Chinese cities on April 18.
