Children with heart disease cured, returned to Xinjiang

On March 9, along with their parents and some medical workers, six children with congenital heart disease from Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region returned to Xinjiang after free surgery at the Air Force General Hospital in Beijing. They are the second batch of children to receive free treatment for congenital heart disease.

A total of 51 children afflicted by congenital heart disease in Xinjiang will receive free surgery sponsored by the China Charity Federation. The China Charity Federation found the children by asking qualified families in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region to sign up for a program called Xinlei, initiated by the Beijing-based organization.
