Last year, China produced nearly 7,200 green cars listed on the "New Energy Vehicle Application Project Recommendation Model Catalogue," and sped up its industrial upgrade, according to the "Economic Performance Report on the 2010 Auto Industry," which was recently released by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The 7,200 green cars are from a list of 190 types of green cars built by 54 car enterprises.

Also, a system that keeps the public informed about automobile fuel consumption was established last year. The "Light Car Fuel Consumption Notice Catalogue" compiles 152 enterprises and more than 11,000 statistics into 12 categories. Currently there are a total of 25 pilot cities for green car demonstration and promotion, and six cities have launched pilot projects allowing state subsidies for personal purchase.

Another fruitful achievement is the policy implementation of "The Project to Benefit Citizens Through Energy-Saving Products.", according to Guangzhou Daily.
