Children cool off at a fountain in Battery Park in New York, the United States, July 22, 2011. According to the U.S. National Weather Service, the temperature reached 104 degrees Fahrenheit (40 Celsius) in Manhattan on Friday. A heat advisory and an air quality alert were also issued.
