Zhou Zilei, the renowned Chinese ocarina performer, introduces features of ocarina, an ancient instrument. On July 17, an ocarina-themed concert is going to be held at National Center for the Performing Arts. Four international ocarina virtuosos — Giorgio Pacchioni (Italy), Osawa Satoshi (Japan), Zhou Zilei(China) and Liu Yongtai (China's Taiwan) — will be performing on the stage. The ocarina is an ancient instrument, which has a history as old as 7,000 years and is presumably derived from "Xun," a Chinese traditional instrument. It enjoys great popularity in Japan, Korea, Italy and the United States. (Photo: Wang Chengxuan)
