A Tibetan family's train journey of Buddhist pilgrimage

On June 22, a Tibetan family is on their way to Lhasa for a Buddhist pilgrimage. Since the Qinghai-Tibet Railway opened in 2006, there have been an increasing number of Tibetan pilgrims visiting Lhasa by train. This is the first time the family has traveled to Lhasa by train, and they expect to stay there for a month. It has been 20 years since their last visit, which took them nearly 10 days to travel to Lhasa from their hometown in Qinghai province. (Wang Bo/Xinhua)
