'Super Moon' rises over the world

A full moon rises over Washington, D.C., capital of the United States on the evening of March 19, 2011. A full moon of rare size and beauty called a "Super Moon" orbited the Earth at a point closer than any other time in the past 19 years — a distance of 221,565 miles, or 356,575 kilometers, away. The world observed the super moon on Saturday night. In addition, contrary to some reports circulating on the Internet, the full moon will not trigger natural disasters. (Photo by Zhang Jun, Xinhua)
