Pakistani security forces clear militants in border region

Pakistani soldiers patrol a road in Parachinar, capital of northwest Pakistan's Kurram Agency, July 9, 2011. Security forces backed by gunship helicopters and artillery gun killed 11 militants on Friday in central Kurram Agency, a tribal region bordering Afghanistan, with death toll of enemy fighters in military's four-day offensive reached up to 50. Security forces made advancement in Pongi, Asper katt, Korrat and Dompaki area of central Kurram Agency and cleared most of these areas from militants on Saturday. (Xinhua/Umar Qayyum)
