One person was killed in Jordan as the security forces dispersed the demonstrations, a witness said Friday.

Meanwhile, according to witnesses on Friday, over 100 Jordanians were injured as gangs of thugs attacked the demonstrators at Jamal Abdel Nasser roundabout with rocks and sticks during a sit-in which started from Thursday.

Security forces erected a barrier around the roundabout and used water cannons to end the clashes between pro-reform demonstrators and government loyalists.

Witnesses said the security forces broke up a protest camp near the roundabout and scores of demonstrators were also arrested by the security forces.

Hundreds of young Jordanians started an open-ended sit-in Thursday at Jamal Abdel Nasser roundabout, demanding constitutional amendments and more freedom.

The sit-in was called for by a group of young Jordanians who started a group called "March 24 Youth Movement" on Facebook.
