Takeaki Matsumoto to be named Japan's new foreign minister

Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan has decided to appoint State Foreign Secretary Takeaki Matsumoto as the country's next foreign minister after Seiji Maehara's resigned over an illegal donation, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano announced in Tokyo on March 9. Photo shows that Matsumoto attending a State Budget Committee meeting on March 9.
