Year 2010 in retrospect: World disasters

Earthquakes, tsunamis and forest fires are natural disasters, but air crashes, fires and riots are all man made. As we embrace the year 2011, let's remember those tragedies that happened this year and, rather than dwelling on the sorrow, we should commemorate the victims of these events.


At 500 people were killed in religious violence in a village north of the city of Jos, Nigeria when Muslim Fulani herdsmen attacked Christians on Mar. 7. Photo shows the victims of religious violence that were collectively buried in a village 15 kilometers from Jos.
