An unidentified injured tour bus passenger is evacuated from an ambulance into Nasser Institute Hospital in Cairo, Egypt, Dec. 26, 2010. Eight U.S. tourists died and some 21 others were injured in a traffic accident in southern Egypt, Egypt 's official news agency MENA reported on Sunday.

Initial investigations showed that the bus carrying 37 Americans collided with a sand-laden truck which pulled over on the road when heading to Egypt's Abu Simble temple.

The victims included six women and two men. The Egyptian bus driver and the tourist guide were also injured. Officials said that the injured tourists are now in Mubarak military Hospital for treatment.

The tourist bus was part of a three-vehicle convoy carrying 116 Americans on their sightseeing tour.Source: Xinhua
