Mark Maddof, one of imprisoned U. S. financier Bernard Madoff's sons, was found dead in his own apartment of apparent suicide in New York early Saturday morning.

One of Mark Maddof's family members reported his death to the police after he found Mark hanged himself in his apartment located in New York's Soho section.

Mark and his brother now were both under investigation but hadn 't faced any criminal charges related to the notorious Ponzi scheme which led to their father's 150-year of jailing.

Mark, who worked as a broker in his father's firm has repeatedly said he was unaware of the scheme. However, the court- appointed trustee recovering assets for the victims of the scheme, accused him of using money he received improperly to buy luxury homes in several places.
