U.S. tightens airline security procedures

Passengers receive security check at the Washington Reagan National Airport outside Washington, D.C., capital of the United States, Jan. 4, 2010. The new flight security procedures released by the U.S. government started on Monday. All U.S.-bound travelers from 14 "terrorism-prone" countries on the State Department's lists of "State Sponsors of Terrorism" and other "countries of interest" including Nigeria, Yemen, Pakistan, Cuba, Iran, Sudan and Syria will be patted down and have carry-on luggage searched under the new security procedures.(Xinhua Photo)
