The massive power blackout occurred at the Reagan National Airport outside Washington, D.C. on Monday, leaving the flight and security check suspended.

Courtney Mickalonis, a spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, confirmed that the power went out at noon, which is believed a problem outside the airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a ground hold and the Transportation Security Administration has suspended security screening procedure at the airport, she said.

The Reagan National Airport is located in suburb Washington D.C. in Virginia.
