Starting on May 26, dozens of geologists from China, the United States, Japan, Italy and Canada paid a visit to Taining County, Fujian Province and attended the second International Forum on the Geoparks. Qin Dahe and Liu Changming, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Science and geologists, exchanged views with other international experts around a theme of "capacity building and sustainable development."

The Taining County is both a world heritage site and a geopark.
